记得一位资深可持续专家的分享：耐克曾经回收其品牌的运动鞋，将废弃的鞋底材料做成社区篮球场的塑胶地板，塑胶地板可以缓冲运动时对膝盖的冲击，保护着社区打篮球的儿童们，这个做法很妙，在环保方面，减少废弃物并能物尽其用；人文关怀方面，保护着社区儿童的健康和安全；而公司宣传方面，又得到了很好的形象推广—每个篮球场的塑胶地板上，印着大大的Nike logo。
LCA（Life Cycle Assessment 生命周期评估） 这一环境管理工具，用于评估与某一产品（或服务）相关的环境因素和潜在影响，真正使用这一工具的企业，是认真地履行可持续发展的承诺，因为这种评估方法需要比较专业的实验室和工程师，需要企业有专项的投入。
